Last saturday, I hang out with my friend, Tery. She wanted to buy some gifts for her friends, so we went to a shopping center. Right now, everywhere are all shopper, because everythings have discount. But when we need to check out, we have to wait in a long line. I asked her some shopping informations about “black friday” which I saw on the internet. She told me she has many coupons in her home, she can give me. And we decided to go sopping in williamsburg on this friday midnight.

Today morning, I woke up so early in this frozen day. The reason why I woke up early is because I went to change car oil with my friend. Usually, the dealer would not only change oil, but also check every parts of our car. After they check, they found that there are many equipments need to change, such as mocro filter, air filter, brake flush, balance tires. It’s really hard to understand something in English that I also don’t understand in chinese. Finally, we decide to change these equipments next time after we ask someone to explaine more details. In conclusion, live in America compare to live in the school still have a lot of diferences. I feel frustrated.

yes, I quit my job in order to study. This why that I say I must to believe that learning is still valuable last Thursday. I already made this decision so that I have to keep going.
Tonight,I invited Tery to my Japanese friend’s house to eat dinner. Because of the weather is getting cold, so my Japanese friends want to eat hot pot. I told Tery that it is a best chance to talk with real Japanese people, and also if she wants to know more about Asia cultures, she has to know the hot pot which is the popular food that people eat in winter. During the dinner, we talked about how to make a hot pot, and where can we buy these food in the US. Also, we talked about the new prisedent,Obama. We share the informations about that what people do on that night.One friend told us that VCU campus was so crazy because many black people were celebrate in the commends and eat free pizzas and fried chicken. Tery said she was woking that night. She worked for a restaurant to deliver and that night was very busy. Because many people concerned about the election and they stayed at home to watch the news. On that night, I also concerned about the election, so I watch the news on-line all the night. Of course, we all agree that the Obama’s speech was so tounching.

Today, I went to the Wal-Mart because I want to buy the contact lens. I told the lady what I want, but she told me that I need to have a prescription from my doctor. I told her I am international student here, so I don’t have my doctor. I ask her can I exam here? She said, “yes,we have doctor in next store can help you to exam, but it takes about $120 if you don’t have insurance. Then I asked her can I get prescription from my country? She was really a nice person that I can feel she was really want to help me. Because she said I can try to get Prescription then bring or fax to her. But she isn’t sure that there is no differences between Taiwan’s prescription and United State’s prescription, also she isn’t sure that she can read it or not.
Although I can’t get the contact lens finally, I think it is a special experience. Because in Taiwan we can buy contact lens without prescription, now I know another different thing between Taiwan and U.S.
